Budget 2004

 
The 2004 Budget announced additional qualifying technologies and amended some of the criteria for those already on the list.

The following technologies and sub-technologies were added to the Energy Technology List (ETL):
  • Air-to-air energy recovery
  • Boiler equipment
    • Gas fired condensing water heaters
  • Compact heat exchangers
  • Heat pumps
    • Air source: gas engine split and multisplit (incl VRF)
    • Ground source: brine to air
    • Ground source: brine to water
  • Heating ventilation and air conditioning zone controls
  • Refrigeration equipment
    • Air-cooled condensing units
The Budget amended criteria for the following existing technology groups that were already on the list:

  • Boilers
    • Burners with control
  • Heat pumps for space heating
  • Packaged warm air and radiant heaters
    • Packaged warm air heaters
    • Overhead radiant heaters
  • Refrigeration equipment
    • Commercial service cabinets
    • Compressors
    • Packaged chillers
    • Refrigerated display cabinets
The ETL was published on 16 July 2004 and came into effect on 26 August 2004.
