     Criteria
These systems capture the sun’s energy and use it to heat water. They differ from photovoltaic systems, which capture solar energy and convert it to electricity.

The thermal systems include a collector, storage mechanism, pipework (plus valves, insulation, etc) and controls.

For larger, industrial applications, the system may not always generate enough to get the water to the required temperature. If this is the case, the water will need some top-up heat to get it to the right temperature.

All eligible products in this category appear on the Energy Technology Product List (ETPL). This is continually updated, with new products added and old ones removed at the beginning of every month.

You will be able to claim an Enhanced Capital Allowance on a product if it’s on the ETPL at the time of purchase. If it has been taken off the list, or is added at a later date, you will not. So make sure the product you want to buy is on the list before making your investment.

See below for all the products within this technology currently on the list. You can use the filter to search for products with a certain feature. Alternatively you can tick one or more of the check boxes and export them to Excel to compare products.
