     Criteria
Radiant heaters operate by heating the spaces beneath them by infrared radiation. This radiation does not warm the surrounding air directly, but is absorbed by solid objects such as building occupants and surrounding fabric.

The heaters use either gas or oil and are particularly suited to the heating of large volume buildings with high air change rates and for localised spot heating.

These systems can also provide local ‘spot heating’ and are particularly efficient in buildings with high air change rates. These refer to the number of times the air within a building is changed every hour.
